Santorini Airport, located near Kamari village and next to Monolithos area, with regular flights from Athens by Olympic Airways and, Aegean Airlines as well as charters from many European towns. Flight duration from Athens to Santorini is about 30 minutes.

From the airport there are buses to Fira, where you can change to buses for other towns. Taxis are also usually waiting at the airport, but competition for them can be keen. Many Santorini hotels offer airport transfers, usually for a fee that's more than a taxi would charge you.

Also the airport serves as both a military and a civil airport. With its relatively small appron, the airport is only able to serve up to 6 civilian planes at the same time. The tower (freq. 118.05) also serves as approach / departure, up to FL170.

Travel to and from the airport terminal is primarily through bus service, but you may also find the services of taxis, car rental, and some hotels do offer a pickup service as well. Travel by bus can be slightly confusing to visitors who are not used to public transportation, but it is the most common and most affordable way to travel around the area. Most of the major internationally recognized car rental companies are represented including Hertz, Avis, Alamo, Budget, National Sixt, Thrifty Eurocar Crown and many more. Travelers who are looking to really explore Santorini in style are also presented with several companies who give luxury tours by english speaking drivers.

While inside the terminal at the Santorini Airport, you should be aware of the facilities and services available to you which include a jewellery shop, a duty free shop, and an ATM. There is no full restaurant, but their is an area which serves light snacks and refreshments. In addition to the ATM, you will also find customhouse services available for your convenience. If you need further travel or general information, there are 2 travel agencies represented and an information desk inside the terminal.
